Creating a work of art that is beyond anything I can see in the world around me is where my motivation stems from. Naturally, this leads to me working in abstraction. In my work, what I apply to the surface is usually oil paint, though not exclusively, and what I paint on is changing as I grow in my experience. I allow myself no limitations to what and how I create, always trying to consider all of the options, all of the ways of application, of materials, of settings I can be in while I work, of colors I can use, all down to the tiny details. The work is truly process driven with little planning, and more in the moment decisions that directly impact the next one. Within my art, references to life do appear, but they are what allows the viewer to find a connection to the work. While, the unfamiliar parts of my work allow for an expansion of the imagination. The explanation for this information is that I have bountiful amounts of color and shapes in my own imagination that I cannot express through words. So, my art practice is the way I share my mind with others. In the end, whatever my art was meant to be, it will be.
